AERIAL SKILLS
Aerials are a form of acrobatic movement peformed on a variety of apparatus. The equipment most used is trapeze, aerial fabric, and lyra but there are many more options out there. Aerial fitness is quickly becoming popular and is a fun way to get in shape. Our classes will focus on static trapeze, aerial silks, aerial yoga (hammock), and lyra.
Movement arts are ground arts without the needed use of any equipment or props. In these types of skills the performer uses their own body to demonstrate their craft. A partner can also be used to pose with or on. Our classes will be focused on dance, partner yoga, tumbling, acrobatics, and hand balancing.

Object manipulation, for our purposes here, describe a very broad range of ground arts. The performer has a type of equipment or prop that they manipulate with their body to create a visual display like no other. These props lend themselves well to fire dancing and are often seen ablaze in performances. Our classes will be focused on hoopdance, fan dancing, contact staff, juggling, and will hopefully include Roue Cyr (simple wheel).
OBJECT MANIPULATION
MOVEMENT ARTS
"Ascend" is an anticipated performing arts and fitness studio whose goal is to teach circus and flow arts to the community."Flow arts" is a term that has broadened to include many art forms from dance to object manipulation. With flow arts, learning the skills is only part of it. The other critical part is learning to connect the skills in meditative movement and perform gracefully from a state of flow. All courses taught at Ascend Performance Arts are essentially flow arts. Some of these performances occur in the air, while others occur on the ground. These arts can provide a fun way to exercise, improve health and confidence, and socialize. There are no pre-requisites for taking these types of classes. We serve ages 7- 70 from absolute beginner to experienced performer.
The Ascend project is a business start-up venture which aims to bring flow art instructors together in a safe teaching environment. It is a six month fundraiser designed to bring in 25,000 dollars. This studio needs your help to be a reality. For most of these art forms, there are no known teaching or learning options in Delaware. As of now, students have to drive to the nearest big city to find any options in training. Although these art forms are growing more and more each day they are still something of an enigma. This studio aims to raise awareness of these art forms. They can be best broken down into three groups.
